w.w.n. army

This is my model numidia army. I play 10k with them due to lack of anything specially good, numidia is dirt cheap too


form up with 6 legions in single line, 3-4 men deep, with 6 archers in front on loose. have 3 camels on one flank and the other 4 cav on the other like this

the setups basic but at 10k odds are my opponet doesnt have anything special or for that matter able to beat my cav or archers. the only armies that would pose a threat to me really is egypt and briton cause of chariots

been running tests and no cav has yet to be able to beat my armies cav. using same money for each army and mainly using best cav to simulate most peoples choices

great job Greek thats a mighty fancy army you got there, but id like to see those boys face off with my 10K Roman army... how bout a match? what times good for you?

anything from 11 to 1 eastern time, i welcome the chance to face you for the first time.

been playing it and seeing a flaw in my army, most people at 10k appear to go for archers and cav only and so my cav is getting wiped out and im out arched, resulting in my loss, any help?

Some pikes would help, if they have any, Iam not familier with that faction.

numidia just has desert inf and numidian legionares, basic archers, and the best cav other than gen is long shield, also have mercenary elephants and basic art, the list is in my first post for this thread

If they pick a faction where u think there will just go for archers and cav, i would lose the legions upgrade your cav upgrade your archers and for inf just pick there spearmen(forgot name) just for support and they could also help with cav battle. Also numidian cav are gd against archers when upgraded us ethem like light cav attacking the archers and then withdrawing.

k thanks, although i think i should just pick a better faction if they pick armenia or parthia that can match them, but ill try this first

this is my 15k egypt, its cwb and very powerful against any non chariot faction , but it fails regurlaly against britain and carthage
i prefer to get in a archer war with my chariots holding the enemy cav in position, then use my archers to weaken the enemy position and when they are out of ammo they loop around the inf and become a second inf behind the enemy, if cav try to attack then use chariots to kill cav and the games your

starting position, meant to weaken the archers with chariot archers then pharoah archers finish them off

....hey Eve, do u have any tips, or things to remember, for building big-money armies? i like 10-15k, but it seems alot of people have been playing big-loot. the only thing i really know is, the bigger the money, the less archers seem to be necessary. Hey, when the hell are me and you gonna kick somemore ass LOL ?

big money armies, hmmm, well, the first thing to know about them is that more money makes the power houses like rome and egypt that better, rome namely. and archers are as neccessary as you make them, at high money their infantry will most likely be all gold or close at any rate, but so will your archers. Against rome or spartans you have to play it very carefully if you have alot of archers. The thing is that against teh front the already pathetic damage that archers do will likely be lowered (least thats how it feels anyway), so your archers can be for 2 purposes. Fire arrows for morale, but their likely vetted up so it only helps a little bit. And you can shoot them in the back, which is very hard to do when against a wall of urbans. So archers would be hard to use, not impossible, but harder. Though why you play high money at all is the main question

And i'm not gonna be able to play all week, family matters have come up and i'm staying at my dads all week, no comp there.

at high money u wanna use cataphracts,spartans,and urbans.chariots arent as good at high money. high dollar archers(forester,chosen,pharo guard, and ect). some tme if there are no rules and u face none pike faction try 10 cataphracts 5 persian missle cav and 5 elephants all fully upgraded.i like playing with unimited money just as much as anything else so let me know if u wanna practice it.i usally use gaul if there are no rules and get forester warband they arrows kill cav pretty well.
