| If your like me, then the more action you can see on-screen the better. To help us towards this end, we can have a minimal UI (user interface) on RTW, just like the one MTW2 added to their options screen, and its very simple to do. First open your rome total war data folder and look for a file called preferances. In that folder is a text file that is also named preferances. Open that with notepad and scroll down to where it says MINIMAL_UI:FALSE and change FALSE to TRUE. Now just save it before you close and poof! Now you have minimal UI on Rome. Notice that the top interface slides out if you move the curser to the top of the screen. I also suggest changing DISABLE_ARROW_MARKERS:FALSE to TRUE. This turns off the little green arrows that pop up under their feet when you select a unit. Unless you like having that. If you have any questions or even need me to walk you through it just let me know. _________________ "You win battles by knowing the enemy's timing, and using a timing which the enemy does not expect." | BTW, I just realized you can turn on/off your unit cards with F7. To keep your armies secret. You can also turn on/off radar with F5 and your buttons display with F6. HINT: Hit F1 to see all the battle command buttons. _________________ "You win battles by knowing the enemy's timing, and using a timing which the enemy does not expect." Miyamoto Musashi |

| i use minimal on med, but in rome with the things sliding out, it would be an inconveniance to me. especially since i play the whole map rather than just a specific section. still, nice to know. _________________ to kill a summer hare is no sign of great strength, to see the moon is no sign of great sight, to hear the rumble of thunder is no sign of quick hearing. what the ancients called clever fighters is one who not only wins, but excels in winning with ease. | Only the top part slides in and out. Just turn that part off(F6), you know all the buttons anyway. _________________ "You win battles by knowing the enemy's timing, and using a timing which the enemy does not expect." Miyamoto Musashi |
